Independent Contractor RN, General Surgery

Positions specified as “Independent Contractor” refers to shifts provided in contracted facilities based on hospital staffing needs, but not guaranteed. General Position Summary: The Registered Nurse independently uses the nursing process to therapeutically, safely and efficiently care for a group of patients while providing care in an effective and skilled manner, while utilizing appropriate decision making skills. The Registered Nurse will practice in accordance with all regulatory, professional, legal, and hospital policies. The Registered Nurse oversees the duties and competencies of the healthcare team; these include the performance of nursing assistant duties, clerical, food service, and environmental services duties as applicable.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Graduate of an accredited hospital-based nursing assistant program.

License/Certification: Current and unencumbered California Registered Nursing License. American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider.

Experience: Six months in acute hospital RN experience in the unit within the last three years.

Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual, Neonatal Resuscitation Programs (NRP), CEN Certification, MSCRN/MSBC Certification, One year acute hospital RN experience in the unit within the last three years.
