Independent Contractor RN, Operating Room

Positions specified as “Independent Contractor” refers to shifts provided in contracted facilities based on hospital staffing needs, but not guaranteed. General Position Summary: Perioperative nurses independently use the nursing process to therapeutically, safely and efficiently care for a group of patients while providing care in an effective and skilled manner, while utilizing appropriate decision making skills. This in the setting of before, during and after surgical procedures. The Registered Nurse will practice in accordance with all regulatory, professional, legal, and hospital policies. Perioperative nursing also includes demands for physical strength and stamina, not limited to standing for long periods of time, positioning patients and transporting surgery equipment. Roles include scrub nursing, circulating nursing and RN first assistant.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Graduate of school of nursing.

License/Certification: Current and unencumbered California Registered Nursing License. American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider. American Heart Association ACLS.

Experience: Six months in acute hospital RN experience in the unit within the last three years.

Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual, CNOR, One year acute hospital RN experience in the unit within the last three years.
