General Position Summary: The Psychiatric Technician provides general behavioral and psychiatric care to patients following established hospital policy and guidelines. Duties include but not limited to assisting individuals with activities of daily living, observe patients behavioral and physical conditions and reporting to appropriate team members. The Psychiatric Technician, depending on the facility, may be required to administer medications or urinary catheterizations, etc. as permitted under the scope of practice of a Psychiatric Technician. They respond to emergencies that involve behavioral/medical interventions in a safe manner as well as assist staff in therapy programs for individuals.
License/Certification: Current and unencumbered Psychiatric Technician License. American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider. Management of Assaultive Behavior or equivalent.
Experience: Six months experience as an Inpatient Psychiatric Technician within the last three years.Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual, One year experience as an Inpatient Psychiatric Technician within the last three years.
